98. Humans of Bombay
Today
I met someone, existing
He didn't have a purpose
He had given up on life
He sat in a corner
Unable to smile
Drowned in the pain
He just about survived
He didn't want to share it
He silently bore it
His lips didn't move
His eyes kept talking
They spoke to me,
They yearned for love
They sulked in isolation
I looked him in the eye
And I just wanted to cry
I even did
Deep within, that moment I cried
He started talking
Midway he shut himself up
Quiet, just drowned in nothingness
Lost
I could witness the layers he'd covered himself with
I could witness the blade slitting slowly
He didn't ask for help
Neither attention
He just sat in that corner
I Walked up to him
And hugged him tight...
Finally he walked away to leave
About a few steps ahead
From afar,
He looked at me and gave me a smile
I felt like I touched his soul
His smile soothed me
Unaware of the pain
Unaware of the problem
I just felt light
I was healed ...
