Chapter 4

For the 101st time, I tried the number from which I'd received that text, only to find the number switched off.
The same questions ringing in my head.
Neither did Truecaller help in tracking the number.
I was in a soup, I couldn't ask people about her, for the fear of seeming creepy at the same time I couldn't let go of her.
I was chasing an unknown identity.
Like they say, running behind something, makes you chase it more.
Right then I decided to let go of her and deviate myself.
But my mind would just not relax.

Frustrated by my unstoppable mind, I walked into a pub in the same area.
Headed to the bar and called for a scotch with water and just about two cubes of ice.
Loud music played behind, there weren't too many people in the pub, as it was a weekday.
3pegs down, grooving to the music, I was slightly buzzed, tipsy you can say.
My Head buried in my phone, I heard a voice " one long island ice tea, keep it strong" at first I didn't pay heed.
As the bartender and this person continued the conversation, I found a similarity in the tone and the voice.
Seated at the bar, I turned to my right;
A fair girl, wearing a black one piece, tightly hugging her upto her thighs, long legs, a silver colored, five wired bracelet with a black coin like stone on her wrist. Her nails painted in black,
Similarly, the black on her lips had a stinging attack,
She seemed taller than usual, Because of her gray colored two inches tall heels.

I was dumbstruck at this sight, like what the fuck.?!
"Maya", I exclaimed.

To my surprise, she didn't turn towards me. I thought I must have drank too much.
Again, I called out "Maya"
Still, there was no response.

I got up from my chair, walked closer to her and called her out "Hi Maya!"

"Excuse me?"  Was her response with a question mark on her face.


"Hi Maya, remember me.? The open Mic today, you recited your poem rage of the nails, I ran to your rickshaw and you told me your name.
You're Maya right.?

"Sorry, but no"

"Then what's your name.?"

"Amayra"
